Meet Dr. Tina Chung
Dr. Chung, born in 1968, is a native of Taiwan. Growing up in Alabama and California, she enjoyed painting, drawing, and building models and crafts. Raised in a scientific family, she realized that she wanted to pursue a career that would incorporate both of these loves, art and science.
Her introduction to orthodontics was at the age of 8 when she received a retainer for minor treatment from an orthodontist who was a friend of the family. During high school, she realized that she wanted to make orthodontics a career goal and proceeded toward that path.
In 1989, after three years of college at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, she was awarded the prestigious honor of enrollment into the Early Admissions Program at the University of Alabama School of Dentistry.

next steps: what to expect
Step 1: Your First Visit Is All About You
We begin with complimentary photographs and orthodontic X-rays to assess your bite and jaw. You’ll meet with one of our orthodontists to review your records, and receive a copy to take home. Your family dentist will also get a report to keep.
Step 2: Personalized Recommendations
If treatment is not yet needed, you’ll be placed in our free yearly recall program to monitor changes. If treatment is recommended, we’ll review your options and provide a detailed financial package to take home and consider at your convenience.
Step 3: What to Expect With Appointments
We respect your time. Your first visit may take 30–60 minutes depending on your case. Once in treatment, most visits are only about 20 minutes. We aim to keep your appointments efficient, informative, and focused on your comfort and care.
